Synopsis

This practical workshop is will illustrate ways in which the competence of all staff, can be managed on an on-going basis and in a way that positively supports the business. In particular, it will examine the means of effectively identifying, monitoring and managing the risk of failures in your firm's T&C arrangements.

The emphasis will be on pragmatic, actionable approaches and real-life application rather than high-level theory. Managing and Mitigating the Risks Arising from a Failure of Your T&C Arrangements

The final section of the programme will address the risk and control challenges associated with Training & Competence, building over a sequence of three focused sessions, delegates will examine approaches to risk assessment, remediation and monitoring and work towards the development of effective measures to provide assurance on the effectiveness of risk controls.

    The FSA expects financial services organisations to arrive at their own definition of competence for different roles and to establish their own mechanisms for ensuring, maintaining and demonstrating ongoing competence in employees at all levels, from senior management to administrative staff.

    To assist firms in meeting this challenge, this practical workshop is designed to:
